Although the effects of Obama being President will haunt America for a long time, the White House continues to be haunted by former presidents and first ladies who are just not ready to leave yet. According to Los Angeles Times, the president and first lady are hearing things in the hallways. It's been reported by Michelle "family had reported the unusual sensation at times of someone gnawing or chewing on their feet, as if trying to eat them from the bottom up." Reading this opens the door to so many political puns that can be said. But we won't go there as this is about the White House being haunted, not how it's being run.
As we look into the White House, it's a no brainer that this place would be haunted. So much history has passed through these walls. Abraham Lincoln appears to be seen the most through the building, especially in the bedroom where he used to sleep. Eleanor Roosevelt was adamant that she always felt his presence when she was in that room. During this time period one of the clerks who worked during this administration reported seeing Lincoln sitting on the side of the bed pulling his boots off. Many of the first ladies and even the Queen of Wilhelmina of the Netherlands reports being awakened by knocks on their door and seeing Lincoln standing in the hallway or standing, staring out the window of the oval office. President Ronald Reagan was very open about the fact that he thought the place was haunted. His dog Rex would suddenly start barking at something. When he turned to look there he would see a glimpse of Lincoln's apparition.
Lincoln is not the only one haunting the White house. President Harrison has been seen and heard rummaging around the attic while President Andrew Jackson lingers in his bedroom. First Lady Abigail Adams appears at times, floating from one room to another and through the hallways carrying something with her.
Knowing all the historical events that have taken place, or was caused to have taken place by the inhabitants of this building. The energies stored here have got to be enormous amounts. I could only imagine being able to do a paranormal investigation in the White House. The lights turned out, walking around in the dark with night vision cameras, asking questions. Makes you wonder if Lincoln would be happy with the outcome of his efforts or if he is wandering the halls still trying to make changes. I would love to hear the EVP's from him and others who remain on the grounds.
